600 hours. That's how long the average wedding takes to plan—the equivalent of 15 full work weeks, or nearly four months of full-time work on top of your actual job.

Wedding planning has a reputation for being one of the most stressful things you'll ever do. Well, we're here to tell you it doesn't have to be that way—here's our advice on how to make the planning process actually quite enjoyable.

First: Get a Wedding Planner

It doesn't have to be Zuzu Collective (even though it should be), but the monumental difference a planner makes during your process is truly jarring. You work a full-time job—you don't have time for another one that doesn't pay. It's as simple as that.

Second: Remember What This Means to You

So many couples get caught up in the stress of planning and forget the reason they're doing all of this—to marry the love of their life! Now, shouldn't that be a lovely process?

Here are a few things we recommend to our couples to bring them back down to earth and reconnect them with each other:

Make it a fun activity! For example, you need to determine your guest list? Go out to your favorite restaurant and brainstorm the people you absolutely want while enjoying each other's company. Need to pick songs for your playlist? Put on some music at home, make a meal together, dance around, and create a favorites list. These decisions don't always have to be anxiety-ridden and tiring.

Just set aside a little time each day to go over something together. And get excited about it!

Third: Choose Vendors Who Care and Believe in Your Vision

Unfortunately, like all industries, some people are just looking for a quick paycheck. They'll do the bare minimum, and if something goes wrong—that's above their pay grade. This is why it's crucial to find vendors who are intentional with their work, value their clients' experience, and will go above and beyond to make sure this is the best day of your life.
